The Course used was the  E5:

Start on B1137 between Boreham and Hatfield Peverel, by drain and paint mark ""30"" on crash fence, 60 yards past the bungalow named ""North Dene"" and opposite orchard gateway.

Proceed through Hatfield Peverel where turn left over bridge to join A12. Continue on A12 to A604 slip road. Turn right at top of rise onto elevated roundabout, where take the ""Stanway/Mersea"" road to Stanway roundabout. Circle roundabout and retrace to A12 and continue to Hatfield Peverel slip road, passing through the village to finish at road sign B1137, 0.7 miles past the village and one mile short of the starting point
